In Austria, there is a motorway toll. If you are on the road without a valid vignette, you will have to pay high fines. The vignettes are available at kiosks and petrol stations. They are valid for 10 days, 2 months or for a whole year.
The vignette requirement also applies in the Landecker Tunnel (bypass via the Piller Höhe/Gachenblick possible).

appropriate equipment, depending on the weather, snow chains are also required. Attention - winter tyres are compulsory in Austria from 1 November to 15 April!

High-visibility vests are also mandatory in Austria – for every passenger who leaves the car in the event of breakdowns or accidents.
